Basketball Game Preview: Dunbar Crimson Tide vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers

Dunbar is 0-10 against Jackson-Reed since December of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Dunbar Crimson Tide will take on the Jackson-Reed Tigers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m.

Dunbar is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Coolidge on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Dunbar was dealt an 82-44 defeat at the hands of Coolidge. The Crimson Tide were down 72-40 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Jackson-Reed had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They claimed a resounding 72-35 win over the Ramblers. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Jackson-Reed's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.9 points. As for Dunbar, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Dunbar was taken down by Jackson-Reed 61-13 in their previous meeting back in February. Can Dunbar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
