Basketball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Wasatch Wasps

Timpview is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Wasatch Wasps at 5:15 p.m. Timpview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Tuesday, Timpview lost to Davis on the road by a 56-42 margin. The Thunderbirds have struggled against the Darts recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Wasatch faced Bountiful in a battle between two of the state's top teams back in December of 2025. The Wasps took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redhawks. It was the first time this season that the Wasps let down their fans at home.

Timpview will need to focus on slowing down Filifaiesea Liava'a, one of several Wasatch players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 11 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Garner, who had eight points in addition to seven boards and four blocks.

Wasatch's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Timpview, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
