Basketball Recap: Battle Creek Takes a Loss

If Battle Creek was feeling good fresh off their 77-35 takedown of Clarkson/Leigh last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between the Battle Creek Braves and the Ponca Indians didn't end well, with the Battle Creek Braves falling 63-47. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Indians are ranked 48th).

Battle Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Ponca, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Crofton the next time they take the court. Ponca will head out to face Crofton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Battle Creek will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
