Soccer Game Preview: Des Moines North vs. Roosevelt

Des Moines North hasn't had much luck against Roosevelt recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Polar Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Roughriders at 6:00 p.m. Des Moines North's last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Des Moines North took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Ottumwa 2-1.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt entered their tilt with Fort Dodge on Thursday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Dodgers 8-1. Roosevelt might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by three goals or more this season.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 15-1-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those five games. As for Des Moines North, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.

Des Moines North suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Roosevelt when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Polar Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
