Softball Recap: West Port Takes a Loss

West Port was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the South Lake Eagles, falling 19-3.

West Port saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachael McCumber, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

West Port's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for South Lake, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Looking ahead, West Port will head out on the road to face off against Poinciana at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Poinciana has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.38 runs per game on average), something West Port will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Lake, they will welcome Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
