Basketball Recap: Batavia Comes Up Short

Batavia suffered their closest loss since December 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wheaton North Falcons by a score of 51-48. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-43 back in December of 2024.

Batavia dropped their record down to 9-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Wheaton North, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-13.

Batavia and Wheaton North could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Batavia will face off against Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 162 places (236 vs. 74). Meanwhile, Wheaton North (ranked 288th) will meet Wheaton-Warrenville South (ranked 95th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
