Softball Recap: Ten Straight Home Wins for Parrish Community

There's no place like home for Parrish Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Venice Indians 5-4. That's more bragging rights for the Bulls, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emmaline Van Beck looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hannah Lewis and Cassidy Ott did most of the damage at the plate: Lewis scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Ott went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits Lewis has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jersie Rohde, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Parrish Community pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Venice, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-2 record.

Looking ahead, Parrish Community will challenge Creekside at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Venice, they will take on Arnold at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Arnold's pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so Venice's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
