Baseball Recap: Handley Comes Up Short

Handley fell victim to Kettle Run and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 19-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Judges of the 9-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Handley dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Kettle Run, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Handley will square off against Brentsville District at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Judges' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kettle Run, they will challenge James Wood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colonels will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
