Basketball Recap: Thayer Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Thayer Central had won two straight games and Paige Tietjen did her part to make it three on Thursday. Thayer Central simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Twin River 58-27 thanks in part to Tietjen, who went 6-for-10 en route to 18 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Another player making a difference was Addie Marsh, who posted 15 points and three steals. What's more, she also posted a 57% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Twin River saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mya Ramaekers had 11 points and five steals. Ramaekers has become a key player for Twin River: the team is 6-3 when she posts at least five steals, but 7-8 otherwise. Grace Yrkoski was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Thayer Central's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Twin River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Thayer Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-40 loss against Southern Valley on the 22nd. Twin River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
