Baseball Game Preview: Tigard Tigers vs. Lake Oswego Lakers

Tigard hasn't had much luck against Lake Oswego recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will head out to face off against the Lakers at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Tigard came up short against West Salem and fell 8-3.

Tigard got a good showing from Grayson Rose, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. The Tigers are 2-1 when Rose allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-4-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Tigard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Fensler, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Alexander Pearson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, while it was Lake Oswego who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Central Catholic who put up more. The Lakers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-1. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tigard's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Lake Oswego, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
