Baseball Recap: Creek Wood's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Creek Wood unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Henry County Patriots by a score of 3-2.

Owen Maynard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Ej Larkin was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Creek Wood's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Henry County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-8.

Coincidentally, Creek Wood and Henry County will both be playing Shelbyville Central the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Golden Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Red Hawks will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
