Cotopaxi entered their tilt with Custer County on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with eight. They skirted past the Custer County Bobcats 50-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Cotopaxi's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joel Tezak, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Tezak a new career-high. Terrance Evans was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kal Tunnell, who posted ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Grant Rusk, who scored 13 points and eight boards.

Cotopaxi pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points over those games. As for Custer County, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-7.

Cotopaxi wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-48 win against Springfield on the 21st. As for Custer County, they will be taking part in a tournament against Crested Butte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
