Volleyball Recap: Pflugerville Takes a Loss

Pflugerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Americas Trail Blazers.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Pflugerville sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-19, 16-25, 25-22.

Sydney Avila had an outrageously good game for Americas as she had 19 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Avila has posted over her last nine matches. Sophia Caro also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Pflugerville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Americas, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Pflugerville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Connally on the 21st. As for Americas, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Midland on the 21st.
