The Ravenscroft Ravens will square off against the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Ravenscroft: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Wake Christian Academy has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Having struggled with five losses in a row dating back to last season, Ravenscroft turned things around against St. David's on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 21-3 win. With that victory, the Ravens brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Ethan Wagnon looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Matthew Hutter, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Asa Turner, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Ravenscroft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, while Wake Christian Academy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for GRACE Christian. Wake Christian Academy was the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over GRACE Christian. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Carter Collins made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Collins was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Avery McArthur looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Will Curry was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Trace Turner was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Wake Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Ravenscroft, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ravenscroft has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wake Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ravenscroft was able to grind out a solid victory over Wake Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. Does Ravenscroft have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wake Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
