Baseball Recap: Franklin County Tech's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Franklin County Tech dropped their record down to 7-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since May 3, 2024.

As for Mount Everett Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games.

For Mount Everett Regional's part, Matt Lowe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Lowe has become a key player for Mount Everett Regional: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Lowe was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jacob Kreis was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Trevor Leonard was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin County Tech will venture away from home to square off against Mahar Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Everett Regional, they will square off against McCann Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
