Volleyball Recap: Willows Academy Comes Up Short

Willows Academy lost against Chicago University back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell 2-0 to the Maroons. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

While Willows Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19.

Chicago University found their leader in sophomore Gigi Wood, who had four digs and two aces. Wood has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

Willows Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Chicago University, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

Coming up, Willows Academy will face off against Cristo Rey St. Martin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Chicago University, they will challenge Jones at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
