Baseball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

Oxford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clarkston Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Oxford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Sorenson, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Oxford now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Clarkston, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

While Oxford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
