Baseball Recap: St. Joseph's Prep Takes a Loss

St. Joseph's Prep lost to Neumann-Goretti back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hawks fell 5-2 to the Saints.

Christopher Grasso was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Grasso wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was William Ward, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

St. Joseph's Prep's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for Neumann-Goretti, their record is now 6-3.

Coming up, St. Joseph's Prep will challenge St. John's at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Neumann-Goretti, they will host Kingsway at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight.
