Basketball Recap: Murphysboro Piles Up the Points Against Metro-East Lutheran

Murphysboro fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Metro-East Lutheran Knights 46-17. The Red Devils pushed the score to 41-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Murphysboro's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season.

Murphysboro will face off against Century at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Century will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Murphysboro surely won't give up without a fight. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they will take on Dupo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
