Meanwhile, Dothan fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Andalusia on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Savanna Kendrick was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kendrick was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Kendrick wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jada Newman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Holmes County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dothan, their loss dropped their record down to 16-14-1.

Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Holmes County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Dothan struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Holmes County might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Dothan in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
