Basketball Game Preview: Cranston West Falcons vs. St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals

The Cranston West Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cranston West has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the tenth.

Last Monday, Cranston West came up short against Portsmouth and fell 37-25.

Cranston West's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyla Buco, who posted ten points, and Nicole Silvestri, who put up eight points. That was a full 40% of Cranston West's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Academy-Bay View was able to grind out a solid victory over South Kingstown on Tuesday, taking the game 52-39.

St. Mary Academy-Bay View's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Cranston West, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Things could have been worse for Cranston West, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-32 loss to St. Mary Academy-Bay View in their previous matchup back in January of 2024.
