Basketball Recap: Maplewood Comes Up Short

Maplewood came up into this matchup off a tough 42-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Stratford Spartans by a score of 38-35 on Friday. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Taniya Roberts, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Maplewood's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Stratford, they moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Maplewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-22 defeat against Trousdale County on the 9th. Stratford has also already played their next match, a 47-39 loss against Hume-Fogg on the 9th.
