Softball Recap: Virginia City Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Virginia City's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Mineral County Serpents 17-6. Considering the Muckers have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Virginia City got a massive performance out of Nanna Lopez, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Lopez has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jensyn Harold, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Virginia City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.4 runs over those games. As for Mineral County, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.

Virginia City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Serpents: the pair will be back at it again later today.
