After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elbert, Deer Trail was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Hanover Hornets with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

Deer Trail not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Hanover between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-19.

Landree Cox paced Deer Trail's offense, picking up 12 kills. Cox got some help from Vailini Samate and her 12 assists. Cox was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Deer Trail's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Hanover, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Deer Trail will host Lone Star at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hanover, they will head out to square off against The Colorado Springs School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
