Softball Game Preview: Ash Grove Pirates vs. Miller Cardinals

The Ash Grove Pirates will take on the Miller Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Ash Grove is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Lockwood just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, Miller faced Diamond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 10-8. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Miller's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Ash Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Ash Grove might still be hurting after the 17-6 defeat they got from Miller in their previous matchup on Saturday. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
