Suffern's loss ends four-game winning streak at home

Recap: Suffern Mounties vs. Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders

If the Suffern Mounties were riding high off their 63-42 takedown of the Middletown Middie Bears on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Suffern fell 57-44 to Monroe-Woodbury on Saturday. Suffern was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Monroe-Woodbury apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Monroe-Woodbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christopher Pearson led the charge by scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pearson has scored all season. Kyle McDermott was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Suffern's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Monroe-Woodbury, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Suffern will take on Ossining at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th. As for Monroe-Woodbury, they will head out on the road to face off against Middletown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Middletown is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
