Soccer Game Preview: Memphis Central vs. Crosstown

The Memphis Central Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Crosstown Explorers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Memphis Central has given up an average of 2.9 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Memphis Central came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-0 to Lakeland Preparatory. Memphis Central's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Crosstown hasn't lost a match since March 27th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They and Memphis East finished up their match with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Crosstown have been dealt a draw since back in March.

Their goal came courtesy of Terell Clayton, who's now up to seven this season.

Memphis Central now has a losing record of 7-8-1. With that draw, Crosstown's record moves to 6-2-2.

Memphis Central skirted past Crosstown 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
