Steele barely beat Vermilion the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets put the hurt on the Sailors with a sharp 7-1 win on Saturday. Considering Steele have won six matchups by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Steele's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three contests. As for Vermilion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Steele and Vermilion are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Comets will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Vermilion, they will take on Willard in a tournament on Tuesday.
