Baseball Game Preview: Hernando Leopards vs. Mitchell Mustangs + Official Tickets

For the second straight game, Hernando will face off against Mitchell. The Leopards will challenge the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hernando's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Mitchell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Hernando came out on top against Mitchell on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Leopards had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 8-7.

For Mitchell's part, Jonathon Rodriquez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Rodriquez is becoming a predictor of the Mustangs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 7-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Koenig, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Hernando has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Mitchell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
