Basketball Recap: Santa Gertrudis Academy Comes Up Short

Santa Gertrudis Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Hanna Golden Eagles, falling 55-29. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Beto Galarza was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points for Hanna. Galarza's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rolando Roman, who posted 12 points.

Santa Gertrudis Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Hanna, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Santa Gertrudis Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-40 defeat against Rio Hondo on the 13th. As for Hanna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-46 victory against Jubilee on the 12th.
