Naugatuck Valley - Brass recap November 13, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in Naugatuck Valley - Brass this week, Ansonia beat Seymour 21-20. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.

Watertown lost to Derby 49-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Anthony Yordon was a bright spot for the Indians, as he ran for 124 yards in the defeat.

Vincient Gambino threw for 277 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Joey Salemme was a force in the backfield as the Wildcats fell to Ansonia.

Salemme was a passing and rushing force as Seymour fell to Thomas Brockett's team.

Gambino put up the best numbers in passing as Wolcott beat Wilby. Gambino's favorite target this week was Jay Pelletier, who caught 5 passes for 120 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Myles Goulbourne. The Crosby star has 50 catches for 820 yards.

Crosby's Michael Marshall is within 36 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Chargers. Accruing a total of 13 touchdowns this year, Marshall has thrown for 1,964 yards with 11 interceptions.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Ansonia takes on the Bulldogs. The Chargers are in first place, while Crosby is in seventh place.

Ansonia and Tom Lennon's team played the closest game in the league this week, with Ansonia eventually emerging with a 21-20 victory. Arkeel Newsome ran for 110 yards and caught 1 pass for 57 yards during the win.
