There's no place like home for Roanoke-Benson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Marquette Crusaders 2-1 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Rockets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Roanoke-Benson who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 18-25, 27-25.

Josie Weber paced Roanoke-Benson's offense, picking up 11 kills. Weber got some help from Haley Hodel and her 22 assists. Josie Hodel controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Roanoke-Benson's win bumped their record up to 10-23-1. As for Marquette, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Roanoke-Benson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Ridgeview on the 27th. Marquette does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
