Recap: Phoenix Spartans vs. Belle Chasse Cardinals
After flying high against the Grand Isle Trojans two weeks ago, the Phoenix Spartans came back down to earth. Phoenix fell just short of Belle Chasse by a score of 60-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bryce Louviere was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 20 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. Alex Richardson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Belle Chasse, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phoenix will take on South Plaquemines at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully South Plaquemines focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Belle Chasse, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Orleans Charter Science & Math at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Orleans Charter Science & Math has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
