Soccer Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Lake Minneola

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Ridge, Lake Minneola was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Forest Wildcats by a score of 3-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Wildcats are ranked 67th).

Lake Minneola's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for Forest, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Minneola will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Eustis at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Forest will take on Belleview in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
