Softball Recap: String Theory Comes Up Short

After flying high against Franklin Learning Center last Thursday, String Theory came back down to earth. String Theory lost 20-5 to the Penn Wood Patriots on Wednesday. If String Theory was looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to Penn Wood when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alexa Pietrafesa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Pietrafesa is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

String Theory now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Penn Wood, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. String Theory will head out to take on Abraham Lincoln at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. String Theory will need to watch out since the Railsplitters have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Penn Wood, they will venture away from home to challenge Academy Park at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Patriots' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
