Soccer Recap: Huffman Comes Up Short

After flying high against Woodlawn last Tuesday, Huffman came back down to earth. The Vikings lost 10-0 to the Mountain Brook Spartans on Thursday. Huffman were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the three games prior), but Mountain Brook's defense proved too tough.

Huffman moved to 8-7-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Mountain Brook, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-1 record this season.

Huffman will venture away from home to face off against Clay-Chalkville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Huffman are facing Clay-Chalkville at the right time seeing as Clay-Chalkville are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mountain Brook, they will be playing at home against Southside at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
