Softball Recap: North Stokes Takes a Loss

North Stokes and Mountain Island Charter squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but North Stokes had to settle for second. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raptors. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raptors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Madelyn Spencer and Kaydence Woods did some serious damage despite the final result: Spencer went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Woods went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Caroline Mabe, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

North Stokes dropped their record down to 6-15-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mountain Island Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

North Stokes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Island Charter, they will challenge Draughn on Friday.
