Jasper strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Dora Bulldogs with a sharp 34-9 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Jasper got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lincoln Smothers out in front who rushed for 75 yards and one TD, and also threw for 84 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. The dominant performance also gave Smothers a new career-high in passer rating (139.3). Micah Pledger was another key rusher, rushing for 73 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jasper was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dora only rushed for 82.

Jasper's record now sits at 6-0. As for Dora, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Jasper will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Muscle Shoals at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Dora, they will square off against Haleyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
