Norwood piles up the points against Houston

Recap: Norwood Pirates vs. Houston Tigers

The Norwood Pirates can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They claimed a resounding 66-26 win over Houston at home. Given Norwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Houston is ranked 485th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Norwood to victory were Noah Drake and Cooper Vaughan. Drake scored 13 points along with four steals, while Vaughan scored 17 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton McDaris, who scored six points along with six assists and three steals.

Norwood is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Houston, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Norwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Sparta at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Norwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for Houston, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. The timing is sure in Liberty's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Houston has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
