Basketball Recap: Princeton Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Princeton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Gibson Southern Titans 48-46. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won five matches in a row.

Princeton was led to victory by Edwin Holmes and Jace Jenkins. Holmes almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards, while Jenkins went 5-for-10 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Holmes is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 11 games he's played.

Gibson Southern lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Connor Marvel, who shot 83% from the field en route to 14 points and three steals. Kolton Schmitt was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points.

Princeton's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Gibson Southern, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 18-6 record.

Princeton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-33 win against Washington on the 8th. Gibson Southern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
