Softball Recap: Wheeling Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wheeling's offense. They came up short against the Buffalo Grove Bison on Wednesday, falling 8-0. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Wheeling has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Buffalo Grove, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheeling will square off against Christian Liberty at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 12.4 runs per game this season. As for Buffalo Grove, they will face off against New Trier at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
