The victory was the fourth in a row for Northwestern, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.3 points on average over those games. As for Jackson, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
