After both having extra time off, the Hughson Huskies and the Hilmar Yellowjackets will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Thursday, Hughson didn't have quite enough to beat Sonora and fell 3-2.

Hughson actually scored more points across those five sets (107-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-21, 14-25, 27-25, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Hughson got top-tier performance from Julia Daniels, who had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Daniels has posted since back in September of 2023.

Meanwhile, Hilmar came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Warriors 3-0.

Hilmar never let Orestimba on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-21, 25-23.

Teygan Horstmeier went supernova for Hilmar, getting 26 digs. Horstmeier is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Hughson has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Hilmar, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
