Basketball Recap: Lake Howell Skates Past Oakleaf with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lake Howell walked away with it. They blew past the Oakleaf Knights 71-42 on Wednesday. The Silverhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

Lake Howell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jadrian De Los Santos led the charge by going 6-for-8 to rack up 12 points and six boards. What's more, De Los Santos also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Janiel De Los Santos was another key player, putting up 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Lake Howell has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 34.5% in those games and 28.1% outside of them. As for Oakleaf, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8.

Coming up, Lake Howell will face off against Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Howell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season. Oakleaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
