Softball Game Preview: College Park Falcons vs. Acalanes Dons

College Park is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will welcome the Acalanes Dons at 4:30 p.m. Neither College Park nor Acalanes posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

College Park saw some tournament action on Friday. Neither they nor San Ramon Valley could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Savannah Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Acalanes' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to Benicia. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Dons have suffered since April 22, 2024.

College Park's tie gives them a new season record of 4-5-1. As for Acalanes, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

College Park took their win against Acalanes in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
