Basketball Game Preview: Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots vs. Wessington Springs Spartans

The Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots will square off against the Wessington Springs Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Hitchcock-Tulare is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. The contest between them and Highmore/Harrold didn't end well, with Hitchcock-Tulare falling 68-50. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Katelyn Schroeder, who posted 16 points and three steals. Gracyn Bixler was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Meanwhile, Wessington Springs was beaten by Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 68-38 on Monday.

Hitchcock-Tulare's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Wessington Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Hitchcock-Tulare, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-35 loss to Wessington Springs when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Hitchcock-Tulare avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
