Basketball Game Preview: Carney-Nadeau Wolves vs. Menominee Maroons

The Carney-Nadeau Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Menominee Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carney-Nadeau will be strutting in after a win while Menominee will be coming in after a loss.

Carney-Nadeau is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since January 3rd on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Crivitz, sneaking past 59-56. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wolves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 437th in Michigan, while the Wolverines are ranked 190th in Wisconsin).

Meanwhile, Menominee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 59-36 to Kingsford.

Carney-Nadeau's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Menominee, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13-1.

Carney-Nadeau lost to Menominee on the road by a decisive 57-39 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Carney-Nadeau avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
