Soccer Recap: Poquoson Comes Up Short

Poquoson lost against Jamestown back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Islanders came up short against the Eagles, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Poquoson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Jamestown are ranked fifth).

This is the second loss in a row for Poquoson and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Jamestown, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Poquoson will square off against rival York at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jamestown is set to face off against their familiar foe Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
