Football Recap: Union County Comes Up Short at Home Against Yulee + How To Watch

Union County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 21-6 fall against the Yulee Hornets on Friday. The Fightin' Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Yulee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Timmon, who rushed for 150 yards and one score while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Vazquez, who threw for 60 yards and a pair of TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will welcome Keystone Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Yulee, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Clay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
