Volleyball Recap: Haddam-Killingworth Cougars vs. Morgan Huskies

Haddam-Killingworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morgan Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Haddam-Killingworth took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-11, 18-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Olaniyi, who had six digs and five aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliette Harriman, who had 16 assists and five digs.

Haddam-Killingworth's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Morgan, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Haddam-Killingworth has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Coginchaug Regional on the 8th. As for Morgan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Old Lyme on the 8th.
